This is the original Pittsburgh Penguins logo today. This jersey is on their home and away jerseys but not on the alternates.
- Open Google Images
- Get a Pittsburgh Penguins logo from google images(Choose any picture) and save it
- Open up Photoshop CS3
- Open up the picture
- Find the size of the image(Edit-Image Size)
- Then open up a new document with the same size
- Open up a new blank layer
- Fill it with White(Ctrl-Backspace)
- First get the pen tool
- Select the default black color size 9
- With the black pen tool looking off of the original image draw the outer part of the logo(The black part of the triangle in the background)
- Then draw the head and shoulder outline with the pen tool(black)
- Switch the pen tool to size 5 black
- Then draw the hockey stick
- Focus on the outline first
- Then draw the tape
- Then this is a hard part but you are going to draw the gloves
- 1st draw the outline of the gloves
- Then focus on the inner part of the glove
- Draw the black lines of the glove
- Then draw the outer part of the lower skate
- Then proceed with the upper skate
- Then draw the blades of the skates
- Then draw the outline of the white stomach
- Then select the pen tool
- Then go around the entire area that should be black(You will have to do it in different segments)(More than once)
- Then you will get the brush tool while the pen tool dancing ants are still going around the areas with black and fill in everything
- This way with the pen tool you will only be able color over the area selected
- Then you will make sure that you have filled in all the area that are supposed to be black
- Then deselect the pen tool areas(Right click-deselect)
- Then you will select the eye drop tool
- Click over the area of the logo that is yellow/gold
- Then do the pen tool thing again
- You will have to split up the area
- Then while the dancing ants are going you can select the pen tool again
- Then while the color is still the yellow/gold go over everything
- Reference your picture again
- Then as long as it looks right to you you are done with the project
- Enjoy!
